He competed full-time on the European Tour until 1989 before continuing on the Challenge Tour until 1995, gaining a wealth of experience at the highest levels of the game. During his professional career, Ian achieved an impressive 5th-place finish in the Portuguese Open and won both the Scottish PGA Championship at Dalmahoy and the Scottish Matchplay Championship at North Berwick. He has also claimed victory in more than 40 Pro-Am tournaments and holds numerous course records. A fully qualified PGA Professional since 1989, he has coached many of the country’s top golfers and is passionate about developing the next generation of talent. Over the years, he has worked closely with the Lothian Golf Association, Heriot-Watt University, and Midlothian Girls Golf, helping countless players reach their potential through his knowledge, experience, and dedication to the game. From regripping and shaft replacements to loft and lie adjustments, our experienced team provides high-quality repairs to help you get the most from your equipment. RE-GRIPPING A secure hold of the golf club is vital for shot accuracy. Even if you only play a couple of times a week you may need to have your clubs re-gripped each year. We stock a wide range of top quality grips from Golf Pride, Lamkin and Superstroke to name but a few. If you have sourced your own grips we are happy to fit them for you. RE-SHAFTING Woods, Irons and putters - Broken Shafts, replacing old shafts, performance upgrades we cover it all. We supply and fit shafts from all the main manufacturers including True Temper, KBS, Aldila and Grafalloy. CLUB ALTERATIONS Over and above re-gripping and re-shafting we carry out many other club alterations. Services include : Length adjustment - Extending or shortening steel and graphite shafts Loft & Lie adjustment Fitting or Extraction of shafts including shaft adapters Reglue - Occasionally club heads become loose and if the shaft has not been damaged it can be re glued.
